Magdalena’s interest in photography is derived from her fascination in philosophy and surrealism. She finds photography an ideal medium of expression. Women play an important role in her work. This is shown in her obvious fascination with the female body – the epitome of beauty. Magdalena is equally interested in the problems of human relationships in modern civilization. The series Claustrophobia is a story of the modern woman trapped in a world of conventions, stereotypes and fashion. The photographs address problems of women who are suppressed by social pressure; who’s roles are reduced to images of mannequins with an undisclosed face. Their authentic selves remain in permanent hiding.
